At Greenhills, we take pride in the fact that our staff are our best resource. Regardless of their other roles, all are first and foremost, Early Years Practitioners and all hold a minimum of a Level 3 Early Years qualification and are Paediatric First Aid trained. We all feel we have a special connection to Greenhills as most of our children have attended or are attending the pre-school, now ranging from age 3 to 28!
Michelle Thompson
Manager

Michelle still has the same enthusiasm for educating children as she had when she started out in Early Years 28 years ago, 17 of these have been at Greenhills. She took over as Manager in September 2022 and has introduced fresh ideas and teaching methods to the day to day running of the pre-school.
Likes: baking and getting away in her campervan.
Kate Butler
Deputy & Finance Manager

Having worked in Early Years for 12 years as a childminder, Kate joined the team in April 2022 and is very enthusiastic about outdoor learning. She loves getting the children in their wellies and learning through play!
Likes: being by the sea, walking her dog (Mabel) and spending time with family.
Becky Thornton
Early Years Practitioner

Following a 27 year career in childcare, Becky had a 5 year well deserved break, before joining Greenhills in April 2023 when she fast became an integral part of the team. She enjoys small group activities with the children and being outside.
Likes: shopping, cooking, and meals out with friends.
Alison Rostron
Early Years Practitioner & SENCo

Alison joined Greenhills in September 2023 whilst continuing to run her 20 year old Childminding business. She has a wealth of experience so we are very pleased that she decided to join the team full-time from Easter 2024.
Likes: paddleboarding & walking.
Kathryn Steele
Early Years Practitioner

Kathryn started working in Early Years 20 years ago and is from a teaching background. After taking a career break while her own children were small, we were delighted she officially joined the Greenhills team in September 2024. Prior to this she had done supply work for us and is passionate and enthusiastic about Early Years education.
Likes: Yoga, cooking & family time.
Jade MacDonald
Early Years Practitioner

Jade joined us in September 2024 after being the Chair of Greenhills Trustees for the past 2 years. She has a background in teaching, with the past 3 years being specifically in Early Years Foundation Stage.
Likes: Family, being outside, walking, running, yoga and baking.
